Well, I'm over the worst of this cold. Unfortunately the raw, chapped lips/nose have activated a cold sore. Trying the ice/tea method since it's still in the beginning stages (both ice and tea are supposed to have anti-viral properties and limit the growth of the virus). I really want to nip this thing in the bud because it's very contagious and I don't want to spread it to my kids. Oh, and get this...I'm supposed to avoid close contact with infants. Right. I'll do my best!

Having just experienced a cold sore myself (and having talked to several other people dealing with them this winter who haven't for several years)...
I used colloidal silver at first sign of my cold sore and it barely erupted, scabbed quickly and fell off within a week or less. No kissing in the meantime! :)
