Thursday

Rachel is a hair-dryer girl! I happened to be drying my hair one time when she had the hiccups and she fell asleep. Tonight I decided to try it again (even though my hair was quite dry) and she went to sleep almost immediately--gas, hiccups and all. I turned it off and she woke up with gas, so I burped her, put her back down and turned it back on. She's asleep!! Fortunately I have a cool setting on the blowdryer...

Well, I must say the more challenging things I'm facing since having my second baby haven't been related much at all to her. (Except that being more tired, maybe everything looks a little more overwhelming). It's the old issues of division of labour, consistency in bed-times (i.e. when Dad is in charge too), and other stuff like that.

Today it all kind of came to a head for me. I haven't slowed down this week even though I needed to in order to recover from my week of company. Rod hasn't either. I just kind of lost it emotionally. I need more support!! My kitchen is a mess...make that my whole house, Rod is away way more than I expected just with things that were pre-scheduled, Jacob's sleep schedule is not so great...

I need to rest in Jesus. Snuggle up on his lap and lean on his chest. Okay, bye.

I was having a week like that, too. got good and grumpy. I remembered that the timer is my friend and I can do anything for 15 minutes!! I realized one of my bathrooms hadn't been cleaned since....hmmmm....when was that? 15 minutes at a time the house got back under control, resting for 15 minutes, working, etc. didn't think I could do it, just too tired but it worked. love you
