Your Career Type: Artistic

You are expressive, original, and independent.
Your talents lie in your artistic abilities: creative writing, drama, crafts, music, or art.

You would make an excellent:

Actor - Art Teacher - Book Editor
Clothes Designer - Comedian - Composer
Dancer - DJ - Graphic Designer
Illustrator - Musician - Sculptor

The worst career options for your are conventional careers, like bank teller or secretary.
Only problems is, doing those wonderful things don't always make you much money! So, I ended up being a "secretary" for awhile. Actually was quite good at it. But was also glad when I could go on maternity leave...

So Sick

My little girl is so sick. She just started running a fever last night and she's so plugged up, her eyes are watering. And the snot coming out of that girl! And the biggest thing was just that she's not herself...just really tired. We debated taking her into the hospital or a clinic, but the wait time seemed a bit daunting and the immediate benefit doubtful.

So we're going to give Four Rivers Medical Clinic a shot tomorrow morning. Was able to book and appointment with their pediatrician. I'd much rather go to my doctor, but trying to get her in and going across town...we just don't have time tomorrow. Found out this clinic does house calls, too!

Anyways, I'd appreciate your prayers for R and so would she!

P.S. The song has music: two sets of music. One that I started with and scrapped when the music took a new turn. And the original melody I sang for Rod and he liked better, but needs some talented jazz? musicians to flesh out. Anyone?
Open My Eyes

The sermons of late have been very inspiring to me, it seems. Twice now, I've gone home and written a song from them (okay, I haven't polished them and the one from today is only words, but hey...) I just wish that there were better ways of sharing them. Regardless, here's my words-only one from Nathan's talk. I hope this helps me to take it more seriously and finish it, and maybe it will inspire someone else to create (and maybe even come up with the music).

Open My Eyes

Verse 1
Like the servant
who was scared
of the army before him
He couldn't see
the army around him
But Elisha prayed,
"Open his eyes"
And his outlook on life
totally changed

Chorus
Open my eyes
Let me see
What it is you're doing
Open my ears
Let me hear
What it is you're saying
Holy Spirit
Come and fill me
Cause this blind one to see
Holy Spirit
Come and change me
Give me the faith I need

Verse 2
Like the man
who was bent
on killing the Christians
He couldn't see
Jesus was Messiah
But Ananias prayed
"Open his eyes"
And his mission in life
totally changed

(Chorus)

Bridge
I have been so numb,
So unaware, so veiled
I have been so blind,
So busy, so stale
So come now,
I'm asking
Open my eyes

Monday

Almost Home

Well, we've been to Fairmont, survived almost all the driving intact, and now we have one more trip left. We're in Saskatoon at the moment. I'm having a teeny bit of personal time before we have to start packing up again. I'm so looking forward to being home. As I sit here, J has been having a meltdown, but Daddy is taking care of it. R has been getting to be quite the social butterfly, but has been lacking in the sleep department.

So, we're all tired. Bad nights. Late nights. Early mornings. But the kids had tons of fun with their cousins and I did a craft (and now I want to get into painting), a hike, played cards, played the Farming Game fairly successfully, had a plugged/inflamed milk duct, went swimming a bit, and went bowling (bumper bowling highly recommended). Had difficult time fitting in personal/God time or even much one-on-one visiting. C'est la vie.

Anyways, looking forward to getting home and hoping that there are no dead mice stinking up the place, although live mice aren't much better...
